Far West Ski Association has a wide variety of programs to serve its members, the ski industry and our communities. FWSA Athletic Scholarship Program
Each year FWSA awards one or more Scholarships to deserving junior racers in our geographic region.

FWSA Safety Program
The Safety Program has been actively involved in promoting skier safety throughout the Western U.S. Each year, at the FWSA Convention, the Association recognizes an individual who has done the most to promote safe skiing and the safety program as Safety Person of the Year. FWSA History Program
In 1999 a Far West committee was formed to document and catalog the important aspects of ski history and the development of Far West Ski Association. Each year, at the FWSA Convention, the Association recognizes an individual who has made the best effort to communicate the contributions of snowsports to the community at large with the Western Ski Heritage Award. FWSA Community Service Program

FWSA Awards Program

Councils’ Man & Woman of the Year Program
Each year, at the FWSA Convention, a panel of judges selects an outstanding man and woman from candidates nominated by their councils. Contact: Donn Bryant, Chairperson. Sponsors: Big White Ski Resort & Silver Star Mountain Resort.
FWSA Family & Youth Activities Program
The FWSA objective is to sustain and grow the sport of snow skiing by attracting and building the family and youth market by developing programs and services to welcome families and youth into our ski organizations. Contact: Linda Westlund, Chairperson.
FWSA Public Affairs Program
The Association’s public affairs program is actively involved in issues important to skiers including ski area development, safety, transportation, consumer advocacy, taxation and ski history.
