The Far West Ski Association's 77th Annual Convention will be held at the fabulous Peppermill Resort Spa Casino in Reno , Nevada , June 4-7, 2009, hosted by the Sierra Council. Far West Ski Association Announces Stimulus Package for June 4-7 Convention--Buy 5 registrations and get one FREE! New Registration Deadline- May 2, 2009 Ski Clubs receive one free registration for every five members they are sending to the convention. They can use the free registration in whatever manner they choose. For every 5 Full Package Delegate Registrations, the FWSA is offering the club a 6th Full Package Delegate Registration free (valued at $145). All delegates must register and pay their delegate registration fee. FWSA will send the ski club a check for each 6th Full Package Delegate attendee following the Convention. The club is free to disperse the money as desired. A club could provide a partial rebate to members who pay their own registration, or keep it in the club treasury if members' registrations are wholly or partially funded by the club. "We realize that these are challenging financial times for our clubs and their members," said Randy Lew, FWSA President. "This incentive allows clubs get the maximum benefit from the convention by sending more delegates." The FWSA board approved the stimulus at its quarterly board meeting, hosted by Mammoth Mountain , April 24-26. Copies should be distributed to each delegate to give out at every appointment. The profile should include: * Club Name, Address, Internet Address, Email, Phone Even if you are not your club's travel person, you are representing your club and will be bringing information and recommendations back to your board. And lots more! This convention has an unprecedented line-up of distinguished and informative speakers who will address the major issues of the day related to skiing. A major benefit of any convention is the opportunity for delegates to talk with club members from other councils and exchange ideas.
